Sketch a lathe part profile — OD, ID and grooves — in a Mazatrol-style shape sandbox and preview the result.
Reference aid — verify before you cut. Thread data per ASME B1.1 (Unified), ASME B1.8 (Stub Acme) and ISO 965 (metric M profile); charts cite their source in each tool. Formulas and data are checked against published standards, but errors and edge cases are possible — always confirm critical dimensions against the controlling standard or a calibrated gage before machining. Profile
How it works
- X = diameter, Z = distance from the face (all positive); Z grows to the left.
- Fill a row and leave one cell blank — Update solves it from the angle.
- Angle is from the +Z axis; its sign sets the taper direction (ID is reversed).
- Groove type: OD opens at the top, ID opens at the bottom.
